CONGRESSMAN COSTELLO ANNOUNCES SUBSTANCE ABUSE GRANT FOR ALEXANDER COUNTY
WASHINGTON- Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) today announced that Community Health and Emergency Services, Inc., in Cairo, will receive a $100,000 grant under the Drug-Free Communities Support Program.
"This is good news for Alexander County and Southern Illinois," Costello said. "Preventing substance abuse by young people is of utmost importance, and these funds provide a great means for doing so."
The Drug-Free Communities Support Program is designed to strengthen community-based coalition efforts to reduce youth substance abuse. The program is overseen by the Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
