NATIONAL BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION RECEIVES $3,718,200 FOR ELDERLY IN EAST ST. LOUIS

WASHINGTON - US Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) has announced that East St. Louis will receive a Section 202 Elderly Housing grant from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in the amount of $3,718,200.

"I am pleased that East St. Louis will receive this grant to continue in their efforts to aid elderly residents," said Costello. "It is important that we ensure independence for senior citizens in our area by providing funds like this to construct housing designed specifically for the elderly."

The funds will be used to construct a 40 unit development for elderly in East St. Louis. The unit will include a lobby/lounge, offices, and a community room as well as living units. All areas of the building will be completely handicap accessible.
