CONGRESSMAN COSTELLO ANNOUNCES LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANTS
WASHINGTON- U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that five area communities will receive Local Law Enforcement Block Grants totaling more than $607,000 from the Department of Justice.
"I am pleased that these federal funds will support projects to reduce crime and improve public safety," said Costello, a former police officer.
The following communities will receive funding:
Alton-- $53,899
Carbondale-- $34,790
East St. Louis-- $490,721
Madison-- $9,866
Madison County-- $18,293
