WASHINGTON - The US House of Representatives today overwhelmingly approved $1.6 billion in funding to continue initiatives funded under the Older Americans Act for the next five years.
"I was pleased to support this legislation to continue funding for social and nutrition services for older persons throughout our area," said Costello. "The OAA has not been reauthorized in over five years and I have heard from hundreds of seniors supporting these vital initiatives."
The funding was approved by the full House of Representatives and the Senate. The President is expected to sign the bill into law within the next week.
