CONGRESSMAN COSTELLO ANNOUNCES LAW ENFORCEMENT GRANT FOR GRANITE CITY
WASHINGTON- U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Granite City will receive a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant of $22,762 from the Department of Justice.
"I am pleased that Granite City's Police Department will receive these funds which support projects to reduce crime and improve public safety," said Costello, a former police officer.
The funds are awarded by the Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance and are direct awards of at least $10,000. The grant will be awarded on September 14th, 2000
