U.S. CONGRESSMAN JERRY COSTELLO PRESENTS CONGRESSIONAL RECORD STATEMENT TO MIKE McGEHEE OF RED BUD

Red Bud, IL - On Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at the Red Bud Village Hall, U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello, (D-Ill) presented a Congressional Record Statement honoring Mike McGehee of Red Bud, Illinois for his heroism during a fire at Cougar Lake Apartments on the campus of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville on October 12, 2002.

Mike, a student at SIUE and resident of the complex, was awakened by smoke from the fire and actively woke others in the apartment complex warning them of the fire.

Costello inserted remarks commending Mike's heroism into the official record of the U.S. House of Representatives and presented a copy of the statement to Mike and his parents Len and Ruth McGehee of Red Bud at the Red Bud Village Hall.
