Washington -- U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the St. Clair County Housing Authority has been awarded a $34,666 ROSS Service Coordinator Renewal grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The funds will be used to provide Service Coordinator staff to 26 public housing developments. Service Coordinator grants help elderly and disabled residents obtain supportive services to maintain independent living.
"HUD funds will allow St. Clair County to improve services for our most vulnerable residents," stated Costello. "Safe and affordable housing is a good community investment, as it greatly improves quality of life."
