Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) issued the following statement in regard to the announcement that Saddam Hussein has been captured:
"The capture of Saddam is an important development and a testament to the tireless dedication of our troops. While I am hopeful that this will lead to a decrease in attacks on our forces, we cannot take that for granted. Above all, President Bush should use this momentum to again state the case to those countries that have not joined the effort in Iraq that it is in their best interests to do so. We must gain greater foreign contributions of money and personnel so U.S. troops can begin to rotate home."
