ALTON FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES FIREFIGHTER GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Alton Fire Department has received a $105,696 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The funds will be used for fire operations and firefighter safety. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.

"Our first responders need adequate resources to do their jobs," said Costello. "Working to ensure public safety must remain our number one priority."
