Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Coordinated Youth and Human Services, located in Granite City, has received an $80,000 Drug-Free Communities Support Program grant through the U.S. Department of Justice. The funds will be used to implement drug-use prevention activities as part of the Tri-Cities Project Success Coalition.
"Drug abuse is a serious problem, and community-wide efforts such as this are very effective," said Costello, a former law enforcement official. "We must work to give our children every opportunity to succeed. Helping them stay away from drugs gives them a better chance."
