Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Grand Chain Volunteer Fire Department has received a $54,000 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The funds will be used to purchase a firefighting vehicle. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.
"This award will enhance fire protection services in Pulaski County," said Costello. "We must retain our focus on public safety, and I will continue to work to ensure that our first responders have the resources they need."
