Pinckneyville, IL - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Pinckneyville Community Hospital has received a $50,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development. On Friday, November 12, 2004, Costello presented a grant check to Pinckneyville Hospital CEO Tom Hudgins and Marshall Browning Hospital Administrator Bill Huff during a ceremony held at Pinckneyville Hospital.
Pinckneyville Community Hospital spokesman Tom Hudgins said this morning the money will continue work on a unified health care plan for Perry County. He said the work is a collaborative effort between Pinckneyville Community Hospital and Marshall Browning Hospital.
The ongoing work is to identify strengths of each hospital for the betterment of Perry County. "Supporting quality health care services is critical for economic development," said Costello. "I will continue to work to ensure that these resources are available to our communities."
