HURST FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES FIREFIGHTERS GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Hurst Fire Department has received a $53,280 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  The funds will be used for fire operations and firefighter safety.  Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program. 

"This award will enhance fire protection services in the area," said Costello.  "Our first responders put their lives on the line every day, and I will continue to work to ensure that they have the resources they need."
