I-64 WIDENING PROJECT RECEIVES $1 MILLION

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that $1 million for widening I-64 from Illinois 157 to Lincoln Trail at O'Fallon was included in the Omnibus Appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2005.  The work will help alleviate congestion problems that can bring traffic to a standstill.  Costello is a senior member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. 

"This particular area of the highway has been a problem for some time," said Costello.  "The O'Fallon area continues to grow and this funding will help facilitate that growth while creating good-paying jobs."
