COSTELLO TO PRESENT DELTA REGIONAL AUTHORITY GRANTS IN CARTERVILLE AND DU QUOIN ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 29TH

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) and Delta Regional Authority Federal Co-Chair Pete Johnson will present DRA grant awards on Monday, November 29th at two events:

· 1:00 p.m. central, Carterville City Hall, 103 S. Division, to present a $50,000 grant to the City of Carterville for extension of its sewer system to serve Southern Illinois University's Automotive School at its Carterville campus.

· 2:30 p.m. central, Du Quoin City Hall, 302 E. Poplar, to present a $27,000 grant to the City of Du Quoin for design and installation of a new lift station at Du Quoin Industrial Park.

The DRA is modeled after the Appalachian Regional Commission and responsible for developing plans and establishing programs for the economic development of the Delta region.  Sixteen Illinois counties are in the Delta, including Randolph, Perry, Jackson, Union, Alexander, Pulaski, Franklin, Williamson, Johnson, Massac, Hamilton, Saline, Pope, White, Gallatin, and Hardin.
