COSTELLO ANNOUNCES HUD GRANT FOR MADISON COUNTY

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Madison County has been awarded an Emergency Shelter Grant for $136,185 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The HUD Emergency Shelter Grant program provides annual grants to state, local and private agencies to improve the quality and number of emergency homeless shelters.

"HUD programs like the Emergency Shelter Grant program promote self-sufficiency among the less fortunate in our communities," said Costello. "I will continue to support funding for these efforts."
