I-64 WIDENING PROJECT RECEIVES FUNDS

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that an additional $193,667 for widening I-64 from Illinois 157 to Lincoln Trail at O'Fallon included in the Omnibus Appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2005 has been released.  The work will help alleviate congestion problems that can bring traffic to a standstill.  Costello is a senior member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. 

"This is an important project for the area and these additional resources will help it forward," said Costello.  "Maintaining our infrastructure is essential for sustaining economic development."
