WSIU RECEIVES CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that public television station WSIU has received a $35,000 grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.  The grant will support WSIU's Ready to Lead in Literacy project, which emphasizes literacy in early childhood and leverages locally relevant programming, partnerships with schools and other public broadcasting stations. 

"Helping prepare our children for success in school is just one of the many contributions WSIU makes to the community," said Costello.  "I will continue to support these efforts."
