Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the DuQuoin Fire Department has received a $34,200 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The funds will be used for operations and safety. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.
"Our first responders put their lives on the line to ensure our safety," said Costello. "We must do all that we can to see that they have the equipment and training they need to do their job effectively and to keep themselves safe as well."
