RED BUD FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES FIREFIGHTERS GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Red Bud Fire Department has received a $23,750 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  The funds will be used for operations and safety.  Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program. 

"These funds will help our dedicated first responders save lives and property," said Costello.  "All of us must be increasingly aware of fire hazards in an effort to prevent fires before they start."
