Granite City, IL - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation, recognizing his support of ongoing construction on the Chain of Rocks Canal Levee, which provides protection to Chouteau Island, Nameoki, Venice, Madison and Granite City.
The Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Congressman Costello by Alan Dunstan, Madison County Board Chairman, Helen Hawkins, Madison County Board Member, District 16, Terry Thweatt, President of the Chouteau, Nameoki and Venice Drainage and Levee District, Troy Glendening, Drainage and Levee District Trustee, and Jack Oller, Drainage and Levee District Trustee.
"I am grateful to the members of the Madison County Board and the Chouteau, Nameoki and Venice Drainage and Levee District for this recognition," said Costello. "I will continue to support efforts that provide vital protection for the residents as well as the recreational and commercial interests in the area along the Chain of Rocks Canal."
