Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Fiber 520-522 LLC, located in Salem, Illinois, has received a $127,798,000 loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development. The funds will be used to construct a fiber-to-the-home system that will connect 32,732 residential and 1,494 business subscribers in a 12 county area, including sections of the 12th Congressional District. The counties affected in the 12th District are: Franklin, Jackson, Madison, Monroe, Perry, Randolph, St. Clair, and Williamson.
"Bringing broadband access to our rural residents and businesses is important for the commerce and quality of life in our region," Costello said. "I will continue to support efforts that positively impact the economy of our communities."
