COSTELLO ANNOUNCES HUD GRANT FOR EAST ST. LOUIS

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the East St. Louis Housing Authority has been awarded a $63,630 Housing Choice Voucher grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Housing Choice Voucher – Family Self Sufficiency program is intended to promote the development of local strategies to coordinate the use of HUD assistance with public and private resources to enable participating families to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency.

“This funding will help provide the resources for families to develop the skills required for self-sufficiency,” Costello said. “Assisting residents in their progress toward financial independence helps to foster improved economic conditions in our communities.”
