Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Southern Five Regional Planning and Development Commission, located in Ullin and serving the counties of Alexander, Johnson, Massac, Pulaski and Union, has received a $55,628 district planning grant from the Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The funds will be used to support long-term regional economic development planning.
"Southern Five is playing an important leadership role in economic development in the area," said Costello. "I will continue to support these efforts because I know these funds are critical to bringing new jobs and investment to the area."
