COSTELLO ANNOUNCES HEAD START GRANT FOR THE WESTERN EGYPTIAN ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that The Western Egyptian Economic Opportunity Council, located in Steeleville, has been awarded a $1,019,040 Head Start grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  The funds will be used for its Head Start Early Education program. 

"I have consistently supported funding for early education programs," said Costello.  "Learning to read and write is the foundation of a good education, and Head Start has been extremely successful in preparing our students to master these skills."
