U.S. CONGRESSMAN JERRY COSTELLO CALLS ON GOVERNOR BLAGOJEVICH TO PREVENT CLOSING OF HUMAN SERVICES CENTER OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS

Red Bud -U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) called on Governor Rod Blagojevich today to urge him to take the necessary action to see that funds owed Human Services Center of Southern Illinois are paid. Human Services Center, located in Red Bud, recently announced staff cuts made necessary by budget shortfalls caused by lack of payment by the State of Illinois.

“Essential mental heath services will be eliminated due to this staff reduction,” said Costello. “The State of Illinois must honor its commitment to service providers such as Human Services Center of Southern Illinois.”
