Pottstown Mercury: Congressman Ryan Costello appointed to serve on two subcommittees

Washington >> Congressman Ryan Costello, R-6th Dist., was selected to serve on two subcommittees under the House Committee of Veterans’ Affairs.
Costello will join the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs and Economic Opportunity subcommittees geared toward aiding returning veterans.
“In just a few short weeks as a Congressman, Ryan Costello has jumped in with both feet on the issues facing our committee and today’s veterans,” said House Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Jeff Miller, R-1st Dist., of Florida. “He is dedicated to improving the lives of our returning heroes while increasing accountability and efficiency at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and I am excited to appoint him to the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs and Economic Opportunity subcommittees.”
According to a representative from Costello’s office, Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs has legislative oversight and investigative jurisdiction over compensation and pensions for all U.S. wars, while the Economic Opportunity subcommittee oversees education, employment, training vocational rehabilitation housing programs and transition programs for veterans.
