Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ryan Costello (R-PA) released the following statement after voting in favor of the Regulatory Accountability Act. H.R. 185 passed the House of Representatives this afternoon:

“American job creators are buried under regulatory burden of roughly $1.75 trillion each year. Last year alone the cost of compliance for new regulations totaled $67.4 billion. Annually, Americans face nearly $1.86 trillion in regulations, that’s a burden of $15,000 per household. That’s simply unfair to our small businesses and families. The Regulatory Accountability Act modernizes the federal rulemaking process and puts more power in the hands of our job creators. I was pleased to support this legislation that will streamline our government, get Washington out of the way, and bring stability and certainty to small businesses and our economy as a whole.”
